Dear all,

On behalf of Indo Swiss Sports Club, a very hearty vote of thanks to all of you for gracing our 6th Athleticum International shuttle badminton tournament held at the Shuttle Zone Wetzikon on Oct 18th & 25th, 2008 .

We have been privileged to be associated with the Integration & Sports department - Zurich Kanton.

The wheels of this event start rolling months in advance and we had been fortunate enough to be backed by a team of very motivated and dedicated colleagues under the guidance of tournament Jury chairman Werner Kuster, Ex Swiss badminton champion and our valued sponsors to back up with financial support. So we could offer such a professional event Free of Charge for all viewers.

The tournament was dedicated to the 60th jubilee celebration of India Swiss friendship treaty.

An event of this dimension was in our mind from very long to combine sports activity together with cultural programs from different continents and to create a Gala atmosphere . We are happy that the idea becom true from our 5th year anniversary celebration and continued the same spirit this year as well . We are very happy for the positive feedback for the multicultural gala that we have organized during the prize distribution ceremony with highlights of Bolivian folk dance, Samba dance, Flamenco, Salsa show, Hip Hop, Bhangra dance, music and party.

We believe sports as well as culture speaks only one language - that's love and friendship.

It gives us immense pleasure that over 160 badminton players took part in this two day long tournament from different countries such as Switzerland, UK, Austria, Germany, Italy, and China .

Congratulations to the winners and all participants for their sportsman spirit and fair play.

We take this opportunity to extend our most sincere thanks to all our sponsors and guest invitees who have come from different field of sports and other dignitaries.

We must mention our deep sense of appreciation for all fellow Malayalee & Indian organisations here in Switzerland for their complete support and help for our event. Their support was one of the cornerstones of the victory and the rich crowed that we had for the event. Thank you so much for all of you and once again we have shown our team spirit and a mentality to helping each other.

We also would like to thank Fr. During the tournament we had an unfortunate incident , that one of the players, Anil Korah (Basel / 39 years) got a cardiac related medical emergency where Indo Swiss sports club emergency team did an excellent first aid service. We really want to thank once again Dr. Marie Peus (Surgeon - Chirurgie Spital Linth - Uznach) who led the Indo Swiss Sports Club 's first aid team. The doctor was a player of the tournament together with Indo Swiss members. Our lady volunteers specialised in medical service together with Jimmi Korattikattutharayil also made an outstanding emergency service to save Anil's life.

We all pray for Anil's immediate health recovery and he is still under medical observation in University hospital - Zurich.

We also thank Kuoni Destination Management Dubai and Zurich offices, who helped us to speed up Anil's brother (Sunil Korah) emergency visa at Swiss consulate Dubai as well as the emergency & VIP escort services arranged for him at Zurich airport up on his arrival (28.10.08).

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the catering team from Indian Restaurant Rani - Rüti as well as our DJ Joji Moonjelil and the Stage master Mr Peter Mier from Kirsch Verein Wetzikon.

Our dedicated ladies volunteers also made an excellent job.

Our vision for future is to make it even bigger and better where a confluence of thoughts, ideas, and nationalities will all come together under one roof - one language - THAT'S SPORTS.

Let's have the HARMONY THROUGH SPORTS.

Request you to note the date for our 7th International shuttle badminton tournament which will be held on 24th October, Saturday - 2009. Request you to mark your calendar already from now this date and we can all meet and witness once again with an international & colourful sport + Cultural event which will be decided by the new committee of Indo Swiss Sports Club.
